What do a user searching for their favorite brunch spot, an entrepreneur looking to grow their business, and a homeowner trying to find a dependable contractor have in common? Yelp, of course! Listed as one of the top internet properties in the US, Yelp is on a mission to help people connect with great local businesses one review at a time. Yelp is looking for an authentic, tenacious, unboring engineering leader - who plays well with others and always protects the source! - to join our growing Security Platform team. Security Platform is a team of software engineers who enable Yelp’s engineers to do their best work while respecting fundamental principles of security and privacy. We act as a force multiplier for other Security teams and for the wider Trust and Safety group. Our team pursues a centralized mandate to design, build, and support the core systems, tools, and platforms used at Yelp for measuring, scanning for, and quantifying risk. Wecreate and manage holistic views of organizational risk by integrating various data sources, including indicators of compromise/vulnerability and security incidents. Finally, we support the creation of secure-by-default tooling for developers, including novel intrusion detection and integrity monitoring solutions within our production environment. We also regularly collaborate with teams developing Yelp’s consumer applications, data processing systems, and underlying infrastructure. Moving forward, our Security Platform team will grow in headcount and scope to complement expansion of its mandate.
